Cider Festival

A beautiful Fall day has arrived!
It is time for the Cider Festival at
The Albuquerque Botanic Gardens!

Mums and other Fall colored potted flowers are
scattered around the Botanic Garden.

The leaves on the trees are turning a warm golden color.

Geese are enjoying the pond.

The Rio Grande Heritage Farm
is open for their Cider Festival!

A Cider Festival?

Yes, apples grown at the Heritage Farm orchard
and at other local orchards are being pressed into fresh cider
at their Produce Barn!

While I was visiting the farm,
a photographer wanted a picture of me.
That was pretty exciting!

The farm house is busy with musicians,
and an organization of women who hand sew
quilts, embroidery and colcha embroidery.

The livestock barn in the back of Heritage Farm is busy, too.

Yep...looks like old farm equipment.

Have you ever seen an acre?
They have one fenced off at Heritage Farm!

Sasebo Japanese Garden
The Japanese Garden is as full as late summer
with the warm, changing colors of Fall!

I need a rest!
Does anyone want to help me carry this cider?

The Botanic Gardens is already preparing
for the winter Festival of Lights.
Do you see the yellow submarine?

I am missing what?

Here geese....

This is the last weekend the Butterfly Pavilion is open.

This giant caterpillar will become a giant moth.

Some butterflies are sleeping because the temperatures are dropping,
but a few are still active once it warms up.

I saw a few butterflies,
including one that had landed on a man's sweatshirt!

Are there any dragonflies at the Dragonfly Pond?

Nope!

Trains!!!!

The Rio Line Train
is taking people between the Botanic Garden and the Zoo.
Going to both in one day is a little busy for me!

I had a lot of fun at the Cider Festival
finding the end of Summer melting
into Fall!
